Warrior Woman Self-Defense
April 11 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm$50
This five-hour class consists of a 1.5-hour PowerPoint Presentation with a question and answer period. It includes topics such as situational awareness, the effects of date drugs, and non-lethal forms of self-protection. The remaining time will be spent practicing lifesaving skills and techniques which are easy to learn and require no additional equipment. Physical training includes learning various strikes and kicks, vocal commands, grab releases, and basic ground fighting. Dynamic training gives students the opportunity to ”fight for their life” against a predator in a padded suit. Students should dress in comfortable, athletic clothes that allow for freedom of movement.
This class is suitable for women of all ages, including teenagers mature enough to participate in candid conversations about assault. Those with physical limitations can still participate and self-regulate their participation in the physical training portion.
COVID-19 Notice: Given the nature of the class, strict social distancing is not always possible. You are welcome to wear a mask if you prefer. Please do not come to class if you are Covid19 positive, have a fever, have any Covid19 symptoms, or have come in close contact with someone who is Covid19 positive in the last 5-7 days. We will gladly transfer your registration to another class.
This event will be held at Thompson Station Church in the Jungle Journey Room located in Building C. This is the building located in front of the circular drive. The church is located at the intersection of Columbia Highway (Hwy 31) and Thompson Station Rd East.
