Woman Self-Defense
November 24 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
$50.00This five-hour class consists of a 1.5-hour PowerPoint Presentation with a question and answer period. It includes topics such as situational awareness, the effects of date drugs, and non-lethal forms of self-protection. The remaining time will be spent practicing lifesaving skills and techniques which are easy to learn and require no additional equipment. Physical training includes learning various strikes and kicks, vocal commands, grab releases, and basic ground fighting. Dynamic training gives students the opportunity to ”fight for their life” against a predator in a padded suit. Students should dress in comfortable, athletic clothes that allow for freedom of movement.
This class is suitable for women of all ages, including teenagers mature enough to participate in candid conversations about assault. Those with physical limitations can still participate and self-regulate their participation in the physical training portion.
This event will be held at Thompson Station Church Building A, room 120.The church is located at the intersection of Columbia Highway (Hwy 31) and Thompson Station Rd East.
